RRA Releases New Single "Feel the Beat" Featuring Jeff Truly
Minneapolis-based electronic artist RRA has released her new single, "Feel the Beat", a slow-burning minimal synth track featuring artist Jeff Truly.
Built on dark synth textures, deep bass, and a steady pulse, Feel the Beat explores what remains alive when voices, cultures, and identities are expected to stay quiet. Drawing from her Egyptian American heritage and love of minimal synth music, RRA creates a sound that is both intimate and danceable.
"Dark synths and deep bass carry a slow-burning pulse—a dance track about what stays alive when things are meant to be quieted."
The single was written and produced by Sara Abdelaal (RRA), co-produced by Jeff Truly, and mixed and mastered at Soft Cult Studio.
RRA is the solo project of Sara Abdelaal, a Minneapolis-based electronic musician who spent 12 years as bassist and synth player for the punk band CLAPS before launching her solo work. Her music combines warm analog tones, electronic beats, and influences rooted in Egyptian lineage and contemporary club music.
Feel the Beat follows RRA's previous releases, including Perfume of Love (2016), رقص القمر (Moon Dancing) (2022), and El Atlal (2024).

BIO
RRA approaches music as an act of world-building.
Her compositions emerge through intuition, repetition, and experimentation, weaving together minimalist electronics with shifting emotional landscapes. Rather than documenting experience, her work creates spaces where inner life can exist without explanation—where thought becomes texture, feeling becomes rhythm, and play becomes a way of seeing.
Sara spent twelve years as bassist and synthesizer player for the Minneapolis punk band CLAPS before pursuing her solo work. She released Perfume of Love (2016), Moon Dancing (رقص القمر) (2022),El Atlal (الأطلال) (2024), Feel the Beat, 2026
“El Atlal” الأطلال is oUT now
El Atlal is RRA's manifestation of freedom. As she navigates challenges in her own life, she channels her culture, energy and power through the poetry and the musical sounds she seeks solace in. Through her songs, RRA simply aims to give the gifts of beauty and wisdom that she has experienced to those around her.

Her new single OUTLAST is out on all streaming services JAN 25th
Outlast is RRA’s homage to her meditation in what feels like a world spiraling out of control. This hypnotic-minimalist song exhibits elements of post-punk, reggae, and synth-pop as RRA asserts herself within the whirling energy around her.

The Outlast music video was a vision thought up by RRA based on her real life attempts at reconnecting with her self when she feels most constrained. Her cousin, Kitty Aal, using her artistic skills to create film aesthetic in the spirit of French New Wave showcasing the ethereal mystery of the 2 worlds that RRA transcends.

“RRA is the magical manifestation of musician Sara Nell Abdelaal. After burning basements and casting spells while playing synth and bass in the cult classic synth-pop empire that was CLAPS, Sara released her first solo EP Perfume of Love in 2016. While this EP was a clear continuation of CLAPS’ historical synth-pop references, it began RRA’s exploration into the intersections of international pop sounds. For RRA’s first new music in 5 years, we’re beyond excited to release their new pop language to all the weirdos out there.”
